Update on Energy Efficiency Grant
Greetings!
East Point has been awarded the EECBG grant to fund three programs for our residents:
Residential tankless water heater retrofit.
Residential weather stripping and insulation.
Residential energy efficient HVAC retrofit.
AJC Article – April Hunt was NOT correct
April Hunt reported in the AJC that the lottery would consist of a “cash disbursement” for the funds to those who are selected in the lottery. This is NOT correct. There will be NO cash disbursement. The contractor will receive payment directly from the city. Details are outlined below.
Important details before you continue reading this article
The first two dates are set, however, there will be two additional dates to be set that will be advertised through the utility bill.
Everyone will have the opportunity to participate.
The first two meetings:
June 19th – 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
June 29th – 06:30 PM to 08:00 PM
Both meetings will be at the Jefferson Park Recreation Center.
You may only participate if you meet all of the following criteria.
1. You must be an East Point resident.
2. You must live in and own your home as a primary dwelling.
3. Rental properties are not eligible.
4. Tenants are not eligible.
5. Investors are not eligible.
6. Residential dwellings shall not exceed 2,000 SF.

10. Inspection by the contractor will be required to provide cost of repair to East Point.
Lottery process
Lottery system will be implemented to select the residents for receiving the grant opportunity.
Residents may only enter their name in one of the three programs.
Residents must pass pre-inspection by city building inspector. If unqualified or if residents is not willing to pay for any additional cost, the next resident selected will be notified of their opportunity to participate.
—–One decision that Council must make is to offer this lottery with a 20% to the selected resident or to offer it to the resident with no match. No match simply means fewer people will be selected to receive the grant.

A lovely neighbor of Egan Park is thinking strongly about bringing a new fitness business to the area, and needs your feedback. I have spoken with her and she feels that getting your opinion…our neighbors, is the best market research for her to consider. Please see her note below and if you have a moment, take the short survey by clicking the link below. THANKS!!
Dear Jefferson Park Resident,
I live nearby in Egan Park and have been considering opening a boutique style fitness studio nearby and have created a survey which will hopefully help in the planning process. The idea is for a modest size, thoughtful facility that caters to our little part of the world!
The survey contains its own instructions and a place to direct questions. At this point, I just need to get the information out there!
Thank you so much!

Jefferson Park Summer Progressive Dinner this Saturday, June 5th – RSVP’s needed!
Thank you to all who have RSVP’d for the Jefferson Park Summer Progressive Dinner this Saturday. All the dinner details will be emailed to you individually Thursday or Friday so you’ll have the information you need to drop off your food and get to the cocktail/appetizer house.
For those of you who plan to attend the dinner and haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so at your soonest opportunity. It’s very important that we have an accurate guest count and know what dish you’ll be bringing to ensure that we have a variety of food and there’s enough of it for everyone. Showing up without an RSVP or a dish to pass causes an inconvenience to all the hosts who have so graciously opened up their homes. We want to see your happy faces at the dinner (even if it’s just for a course or two), but please let us know in advance if you’ll be there. At present, we’re doing well in the dessert department, but we could use some help with the appetizer course, the soup/salad course and even the entree course.
I hope you’ll join us in kicking off the summer in typical Jefferson Park fashion. You won’t want to miss our first event of the summer!
Please RSVP to Lisa Landers at lisa.s.landers@gmail.com with the number in your party and the dish you plan to bring.
